Almost, Maine
By John Cariani
October 4-5 and 11-13, 2013

Almost, Maine is a series of nine amiably absurdist vignettes about love, with a touch of good-natured magic realism. In the mythical town of Almost, Maine, residents find themselves falling in an out of love in surprising and hilarious ways.

Book by
Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty
Lyrics by
Lynn Ahrens

Co-Conceived by
Eric Idle

December 6-8 and 13-15, 2013

Based on many of the popular Dr. Seuss classics, Seussical Jr. is an enchanted musical extravaganza. As Seuss's' characters come to life on stage, audiences will be transported on an unpredictable ride through the Jungle of Nool, to the Circus McGurkus, and right into the invisible world of the Whos. Leading the way, of course, is Dr. Seuess's most beloved character, The Cat in the Hat. Performances are 7:30pm on Fridays, 2:30 and 7:30 pm on Saturdays and 2:30pm on Sundays

The Drowsy Chaperone
Music and Lyrics by
Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison
Book by
Bob Martin and Don McKeller
February 21-22, 28 and March 1-2, and March 7-9, 2014

When a die-hard musical-theater fan puts on a vinyl record of a 1928 musical called The Drowsy Chaperone, his drab little apartment becomes a show palace, with the original cast members summoned into being to recreate the production. What follows is an intricately plotted tale of love in crisis—involving gangsters, show people, millionaires and servants.

Written by
Benj Pasek and Justin Paul
April 10-13, 2014

Edges, which will be directed and performed by Mount Union students, was created by two University of Michigan students in 2007. Its collection of songs interweaves the lives of a handful of young characters as they grapple with the transition from adolescence to adulthood, and from school to work life.

Forever Plaid
Written, Originally Directed and Choreographed by
Stuart Ross
Musical Continuity Supervision and Arrangements by
James Raitt
May 30-June 1 and 6-8, 2014

Back by popular demand, Forever Plaid is an affectionate musical homage to the close-harmony guy groups that reached the height of their popularity during the 1950s. Centered on four eager doo-whopping male singers, "the Plaids" are killed in a car crash on their way to their first big gig. In a turn of fate, however, the group returns to earth to fulfill their big dreams. It'll be good ole fashioned '50s fun with jukebox favorites, including "Magic Moments" and "Catch a Falling Star."
